Why does my ēllu Band disconnect?

If your ēllu Band disconnects from your phone, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

Bluetooth turned off

The ēllu Band requires an active Bluetooth connection to function properly.

If Bluetooth is manually turned off, or if the phone goes into airplane mode (which disables Bluetooth automatically), the Band will lose its connection to the device and disconnect.

If your Band has disconnected and you need to reconnect it, you can check this article.

Extended physical separation from the phone

Bluetooth has a standard range of approximately 10 meters (33 feet), although the actual distance may vary depending on obstacles or interference.

If the Band moves away from the phone and exits that range, it may disconnect. It’s designed to notify you and attempt to reconnect automatically:

  • When the Band becomes separated from the phone, it vibrates to let you know it has been unlinked (Linked function).

  • Over the next 20 minutes, it flashes and tries to reconnect automatically.

  • If it’s unable to reconnect within that time, it vibrates again to let you know it has stopped trying and stops flashing.

  • At that point, you’ll need to reconnect it manually from the app.

In most cases, reconnection is automatic. Manual action is only needed if the Band has been out of range for more than 20 minutes without managing to reconnect.

Usage on iOS devices

On iOS, the Band does not connect automatically if the ēllu app is not in the foreground or actively running in the background.

To maintain the connection, the app must remain open on screen (foreground) or at least minimized but still running (background). If the app is completely closed or iOS has stopped it, the Band will disconnect.

This is due to a limitation of the iOS operating system and not the app itself.

Battery drained on the Band

If the Band runs out of battery, it will disconnect until it is recharged. To learn everything about your Band’s battery, we’ve prepared this article.
