What is Pager for?
With Pager you can send a message or a voice note, or both, urgently to a contact of your choice in the event of a situation that requires urgent reception of that content and that is not an SOS.
The phone will vibrate or/and a special notification will appear on the screen, other than the chat notification, and the ēllu Band will vibrate four times and light up green for five seconds to let the user know that this content requires their immediate attention.
How do I send Pager?
You have two options to send a Pager:
Within the chat you will see a green icon with a waving hand 👋 at the top right of the screen. Click on that icon. You have 3 possibilities to send the Pager:
Text: Enter the urgent message textually and launch the Pager by pressing Send.
Voice: Record a voice note and launch Pager by pressing Send. There is the option to listen to the recording before sending it and delete it and record it again if you are not satisfied with the voice note you recorded.
Text + Voice: Launch a Pager with text and voice note at the same time, simply enter the typed message and the voice note at the same time, then press Send.
Entering the profile of the contact of interest, you will see the Pager icon on their profile. Click on the icon and you will find the options described above.
Does the Band vibrate when I receive a Pager?
Yes, and it does it in a way that will grab your attention so that you perceive the urgency of the content and can respond immediately. It will vibrate four times and the light will stay green for 5 seconds.
Can all my contacts send me a pager by default?
Yes, initially all your contacts will be able to send you a Pager if you both have your contacts saved on the agenda. If your contact does not have you saved in their address book you will not be able to send a pager. If you want to adjust who can send it to you or you add a contact later:
You have to go to your Contacts screen Pager, select Edit contacts Pager and turn off the toggle of the contacts that you do not want to send you these urgent messages.
Or, go into your contact list, individually select the profile of that contact(s) and turn off the Pager access toggle.
How can I edit my Pager contacts?
At the top right of the screen you will see an icon of a person 👤, select it.
You will see 3 icons at the top of the screen: Contacts, SOS and Pager.
Select the icon with a waving hand 👋. Your list of contacts will appear and next to each of them a green circle with a white dot showing you the contacts that can send you a Pager.
Tap Edit contacts. Now, to the right of each contact in the list, you will see a green circle with a tick indicating that this contact can send you an urgent message. Deselect the ones you don't want sent to you a Pager and save the changes.
Without entering to edit contacts, you can also deactivate the green toggle that appears next to the contacts that you want not to send you a Pager and the tick and the green fill in the circle will disappear.
Can I send a Pager to several contacts at the same time or just one of them?
Pager is a functionality created for urgent situations that do not correspond to SOS. Sending a Pager to someone is a very personal thing and that is why we have restricted it to only one contact at a time.
Why can't I send a Pager to a specific contact?
We encourage you to write to that contact so they can:
Check they have your phone number added to their address book.
Check in Contacts > Search > Edit contacts > that your contact is shown with a green tick ✅
