What is Aware for?
Aware allows our users to virtually accompany or be accompanied by one or more of their contacts when walking through a lonely area, a new or unfamiliar route, or simply when they feel unsafe and want to feel accompanied until they reach their destination.
Each contact who receives an Aware request will see on a map the starting point and destination of the trip set by the user who sent the Aware notification.
Now, Aware is integrated within Maps, where you can manage it in a visual and simple way from your Circle.
What is Aware for?
You will never walk alone again.
In the Aware map there is a collapsible panel that includes:
Statuses: active or inactive state of the person sending Aware. The types are:
Pending to join (grey label)
The user has received the invitation but has not yet joined the Aware.Waiting for location (grey label)
The user has joined the Aware, but we were unable to obtain their location the first time.Active (green label)
The user is in the Aware and is sharing their location.Inactive (yellow label)
The user is not currently sharing their location due to connection issues.Location paused (grey label)
The user has joined the Aware and has deliberately paused their location sharing.
Within Aware you can see:
Companions: the number of people who have joined the Aware as companions.
Trip details: origin and destination addresses, providing full visibility of the route.
Progress bar: visually shows how much % of the route has been completed and how much remains to reach the destination.
How to activate Aware
To activate Aware:
Go to Maps.
Make sure you are inside the Circle of people you want to share the trip with.
In the bottom bar, you will find the card with the lighthouse icon (Aware), select it.
Enter the address or place you want to go.
Confirm the destination to activate the feature.
To ensure your location is shared correctly, remember to check that you have a GPS signal and that it is enabled on your device.
The person who receives the Aware invitation will feel four intermittent vibrations on their ēllu Band, and its LED will remain green for five seconds, so that, even if their phone is muted, the recipient will always be aware of all important notifications in time.
